carving wood, botanical geometry

In course of this semester a wood sculpture will be designed. This object should be situated between organic and geometric shape.
We will research botanical geometry. We will look for a botanical inspiration. First step is drawing the crop and learn to under- stand the shape. We analyse the spatial criteria from the select- ed plant. It means, that we try to find the composing system in these natural examples. For a good formal solution we have to establish criteria, or to abstract them. Analyse is the precondi- tion to design a self-contained volume. A small-size working model (made from clay) will be designed before starting work with wood. The sketch should show, that the design is made for wood.
